Description
HydroGel® is a superior water gel designed to hydrate animals during transport and in other situations. It consists of 98% pure water and is the industry standard for animal hydration. HydroGel® is a non-moisturising solution with a range of benefits, including suitability for short or long transport times, supplementation for affected, recovering or weaned animals, and an alternative to water bottles.
HydroGel® is also an excellent emergency water source and useful when transitioning animals to automatic drinking systems. It is sterile inside and out, comes in medical Tyvek® packaging and is irradiated with E-Beam. It meets quality standards as tested by an independent laboratory, and each batch produced comes with a certificate of analysis. The gel is individually coded with a batch and expiry date for added convenience.
The use of HydroGel® is recommended under the supervision of a veterinarian. Dosage is 1 cup for 5 mice for 2 days, based on average size and consumption. Monitor intake to ensure adequate hydration. Before offering the gel to the animals, cut an X in the top of the plastic bag to better access the gel.
HydroGel® consists of purified water, hydrocolloids, an electrolyte mixture and dietary acids. It is low in calories, with 3.5 kcal per 100g. HydroGel® is suitable for rabbits, rats, guinea pigs, mice and primates. It has a shelf life of 24 months at room temperature and can be kept unopened until use.
