Description
LabGel® Banana is a non-moisturising gel with a natural banana flavour formulated to enrich and hydrate laboratory animals. The gel is an effective means of administering oral medication to non-human primates and other research animals. The gel can be used with enrichment devices and can mask the taste of oral medication while providing up to 93% water for efficient hydration. It is also formulated without added sugar and is more palatable to promote acceptance and consumption.
To ensure quality, LabGel® Banana is made with purified ingredients that meet independent quality standards, and each batch is tested and certified with a certificate of analysis. The gel is individually coded with a batch and expiry date for traceability purposes.
When administering the gel, it is important to follow the instructions and have a veterinarian supervise the process. For better access to the gel, cut an X in the top of the plastic bag before offering it to the animals.
The gel is suitable for rabbits, rats, pigs, guinea pigs, mice and primates. It contains 24.2 kcal per 100 g, with 0.4 g of protein, 4.8 g of total carbohydrates, 3.4 g of sugars and 1.2 g of dietary fibre. Its moisture content is 91-95% and it contains 25.9mg calcium, 36.6mg phosphorus, 99.8mg potassium and 29.4mg sodium.
LabGel® Banana has an 18-month shelf life if stored unopened at room temperature.
